Cable Concentration Curl

The Cable Concentration Curl primarily works the Brachialis, with secondary activation of the Biceps Brachii (Long Head), Brachioradialis and stabilizer support from the Erector Spinae, External Obliques, Levator Scapulae, Trapezius (Middle), Trapezius (Upper), Wrist Flexors. It is a cable isolation exercise at intermediate difficulty.

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Facing low pulley cable, sit on seat or bench with legs apart to each side. Grasp stirrup attachment. Place upper arm against inner thigh. Execution: Pull stirrup to front of shoulder until elbow is completely flexed. Lower stirrup until arm is fully extended. Repeat. Continue with opposite arm. Comments: The long head (lateral head) of Biceps Brachii is activated significantly more than short head (medial head) of Biceps Brachii since short head enters intoactive insufficiencyas it continues to contract.
